Lip fillers are Newcastle Skin Clinic’s most popular treatment and what our nurse Luisa is renowned for.
This procedure is extremely quick, virtually painless and can be tailored to achieve your perfect desired look.
In this post we will tell you exactly what to expect from Lip Fillers…
What are Lip Fillers?
Lip fillers are hyaluronic acid (HA) injections that plump up the lip or to add definition and hydration, which can often be lost during the natural ageing process, to give the desired effect. Newcastle Skin Clinic use the latest generation of Juvederm, one of the safest and most recommended products in the industry. HA is found naturally in the body and has a plumping effect because it can hold onto 1,000 times its own volume in water.
Lip injections can last up to a year and start from £200.
What to expect during the treatment:
When at the clinic, you will have an initial consultation with our nurse Luisa who will work with you to decide on your desired look and the amount of filler that would achieve this. NSC give you a choice of either a dental block or numbing cream depending on personal preference.
Lip fillers will enhance your natural lip shape rather than change it completely and you can always have a little more next time if you like the effect.
The procedure itself takes around 15 minutes where our Nurse Luisa will be injecting small amounts of hyaluronic acid on the lip line. The procedure is virtually painless due to the numbing cream and the anaesthetic effects that are including in our Juvederm filler. Following the procedure, your lips will be a little bit swollen following the treatment. Once injected our nurse may gently massage your lips to ensure the filler has rested depending on the density of your lips.
After the procedure, the lips will swell especially over the next 48 hours but will decrease as the fillers settle. Swelling may be slightly noticeable but not too obtrusive and alcohol and exercise be avoided for at least 48 hours. 1 month after the procedure will show the lasting effect of your fillers.
To look after your lips following treatment you should gently massage them which will prevent any lumps from forming as well as drink lots of water- this will help the fillers to last longer.
