NSC Partners with The National Medical Weight Loss Programme

Have you seen the recent BBC news? There’s a revolutionary “game-changer” weight loss treatment now available that “works by hijacking the body’s appetite levels and mimicking a hormone – called GLP1 – that is released after eating a filling meal.”

As a medical professional I’ve always had a keen interest in body chemistry, staying up to date with new scientific studies on how we can elevate our human life experience by living in the most comfortable version of our physical bodies.

During the Covid lockdown, with gyms closed and restrictions to get outside, I realised that many people are battling with motivation to exercise, over-eating because they’re either at home all day and bored or maybe feeling anxious about the global situation, so rather than losing weight they may actually even be gaining it.

With this in mind, I decided to add a weight loss programme to Newcastle Skin Clinic’s treatment menu; I after much consideration, I am pleased to announce I have chosen to officially partner with ‘The National Medical Weight Loss Programme’, as their ethos is not just about losing weight, but developing new healthier habits, improving overall wellbeing and preventing obesity-related conditions.

What is the The National Medical Weight Loss Programme?

Much like the BBC news report, this is a ground-breaking slimming programme based on a calorie-controlled diet with the addition of a once weekly appetite suppressant jab, that you can administer yourself at home. The treatment mimics the natural GLP1 hormone in your body, regulating insulin secretion to suppressing your appetite.

Is this form of weight-loss programme suitable for me?

The programme is created for overweight people who need help and motivation to slim down. A medical consultation will be necessary as the programme is offered by prescription only, to ensure you are fit and well before you begin the programme.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Most people tend to lose around 6.5 kgs (a stone), however, as with any weight loss programme this will depend on many factors, such as Body Mass Index (BMI), will-power, exercise regimen and of course how much weight you are looking to lose.

“Prof Sir Stephen O’Rahilly, from the University of Cambridge, said: “The amount of weight loss achieved is greater than that seen with any licensed anti-obesity drug. This is the start of a new era for obesity drug development with the future direction being to achieve levels of weight loss comparable to semaglutide, while having fewer side-effects”.”

BBC News

According to a new article of the BBC: “studies conducted on almost 2,000 people show that there was an average weight loss of 15kg during the 15-month trial”.

How quickly will I lose weight?

According to the experience of most users, the treatment starts working on suppressing the appetite just a few hours after the first injection. Weight loss will then begin in line with the your commitment to the programme.

I believe this program is brilliant because it helps you create new healthy habits through reduced portion sizing whilst food cravings are suppressed to control the appetite, and it helps release stored fat.

If any of my patients are interested in learning more about it or discussing whether it could be suitable for you, I’ll be happy to advise you during a free online medical consultation.
