Why we charge for botox per unit amount rather than area.

Why we charge for botox per unit amount rather than area

When you book a botox treatment session, the dosage gets determined by a medical professional. At some practices, you get billed according to the treatment area. Others, such as Newcastle Skin Clinic, charge per unit.

Why do clinics vary in the way they charge for Botox treatment sessions?

Some places opt for a set ‘by area’ price policy, but at Newcastle Skin Clinic, we charge for our Botox by the unit.

When you get charged by the unit, you can rest assured that you are only paying for the amount of Botox you need. Paying pay per unit means that the total price will vary with the number of units injected. In a nutshell, the more units you get, the more you have to pay. On the flip side, though, if you receive fewer units, you don’t end up paying as much.

The problem with paying per “area” is that you may not know what is considered an area! Another downside to that pricing policy is you could receive less Botox than the next person. So, if you both had the same treatment, one person is getting better value for money than the other!

As you can appreciate, such an approach isn’t fair to all clients. It’s like a cafe charging a set price for coffee drinks. One customer might want a large cup of coffee, yet they pay the same price as those receiving standard-sized cups.

At the Newcastle Skin Clinic, we believe that pricing should be fair and reflect the amount of Botox used.

There is also the question of results. As you know, each client will want different outcomes. Because of that fact, some clients will need more Botox treatment than others.

The benefits of Botox

Most people have Botox because of the treatment’s ability to reduce facial wrinkles. It’s also used to help treat various medical conditions, such as:

Cervical dystonia;
Hyperhidrosis;
Bladder dysfunction;
Chronic migraines;
Eye twitching and lazy eye;
Muscle contractures (for conditions such as cerebral palsy).

As you can see, Botox can be used for a variety of reasons – not just to reduce wrinkles!

What is Botox, and is it safe?

Botox injections use a toxin called onobotulinumtoxinA. Its job is to prevent a muscle from moving temporarily. There are several Botox drugs on the market. It’s important to note they aren’t interchangeable.

As with all drugs, some people can experience side effects from Botox treatments. The good news is they are rare occurrences.

Here at the Newcastle Skin Clinic, you can be sure that you are in safe hands. We only use the type of Botox required for your treatment. Plus, we don’t inject more Botox than needed for any session.

What type of Botox treatment will I need?

The Newcastle Skin Clinic offers a range of treatment options to suit all needs. Unlike some of our competitors, we don’t work on a “one fixed service for all” basis. What we do is discuss with our clients their individual needs, and offer them a bespoke package.
