“Luisa originally trained as a nurse and worked in the NHS for several years. Although she was never really interested in beauty per se, she was always fascinated by the workings of the skin and by aesthetics from a wellbeing and medical point of view. She enjoys making people feel better about themselves inside and out and believes that everyone should have access to knowledgeable, confident and competent practitioners on their doorstep.”

“That is why, after gaining experience alongside the most acclaimed aesthetic doctors, cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists in the UK and the world, Luisa opened Newcastle Skin Clinic.”

How long have you been working in Aesthetic Medicine?

“I’ve been following the industry since I first heard of Botox 18 years or so ago, was already working as as a Nurse, so around 11 years ago I decided to move over to the field of medical aesthetics.”

What made you go into the field?

“I’ve always been interested in skin and skincare, so I qualified as beauty therapist and worked in a beauty salon to help me through university whilst I was doing my Nursing degree Once I qualified as a Nurse, went into surgery working as a Surgical Nurse; but I liked the idea of combining my knowledge of skincare with my nursing.”

Which biggest skin woes do your patients come to you with?

“The top three are ageingsagging and tiredness.”

What skincare advice do you give to your clients?

“I tell them to wear sunscreen every single day and to stay out of the sun as much as possible.”

What is the biggest cause of ageing skin?

“Sun damage!”

At what age would you recommend to begin having filler treatments?

“I never like to say filler! Usually, I offer an enhancement treatment if someone is wanting to augment their lips or cheeks, or if they are looking for a general face lift as a whole.”

How often do you need to have filler treatments?

You can have repeat treatments every six months so so, however, scientists have found that HA injections prompt the skin to produce more collagen, which actually creates more natural plumpness, so my patients usually come back yearly

We hear you are known as #LuisaLips – how did that come about?

I am well known in the North-East of England for my lip treatments, and one day a patient saw me out in Newcastle town centre, and shouted It’s Luisa Lips!” and it kind of stuck.

How many filler treatments have you done over the years?

“I think I am approaching the 10,000 mark…!!”

What have you found to be the downfalls of other dermal fillers?

“Prolonged swelling is definitely one of the main things.”

What made you decide to partner with Kysense?

“I trust the people behind the product and the science behind it is more advanced than any other filler I know of.”

What are your top three tips for healthy glowing skin?

“Drink lots of water, use Hyaluronic Acid and always wear sunscreen!”

“I couldn’t be more happy to have collaborated with KYSENSE®, as their ethos is all about subtle natural enhancements to give her patients complete confidence. KYSENSE® has unique rheological properties which lead to a natural look and feel with long lasting results.”
